Day 1: Arusha- Momella Gate- Miriakamba Hut
Leave Arusha for Momella gate where trek starts. On your way stop over for game watching at Serengeti Ndogo. From Momella gate (altitude 1500m) ascends to Miriakamba hut (altitude 2500m about 3hours).
Day 2: Miriakamba Hut- Saddle Hut
From Miriakamba hut ascend to Saddle hut takes 4hours (3500m). In the afternoon climb to the summit of little Meru (3820m about 45minutes) and then descend to the rhino point. Have dinner and overnight at Saddle hut.
Day 3: Saddle Hut- Meru Summit- Miriakamba- Arusha Town
From Saddle hut ascend to the summit of Mt. Meru (4565m) and walk around the rim of Meru Crater. You will then return to the Saddle hut for breakfast and walk down across alpine desert. Lunch on the way down. You will find a car waiting at Momella gate to drive you back to Arusha.
